GTA 6's Vice City and Leonida: Every Officially Confirmed Location
A spoiler-safe guide to the GTA 6 world Rockstar has actually named: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, plus the characters and music that frame the setting.
GTA 6 returns to Vice City, but the official setting is larger than the city alone. Rockstar presents the game inside the state of Leonida and names several distinct areas. This guide lists only locations and world details that have an official source, without pretending to know road layouts, mission order or map size. Verification date: 19 October 2026.
The official geography: six named areas
| Area | Official status | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Vice City | Named and shown throughout official material | That it is the entire playable map |
| Leonida Keys | Named on the official Only in Leonida page | An exact island count or road network |
| Grassrivers | Named as a Leonida area | Its full terrain, towns and activities |
| Port Gellhorn | Named as a Leonida area | That it is a safe starting hub or mission base |
| Ambrosia | Named as a Leonida area | Its economy, missions or exact location |
| Mount Kalaga | Named as a Leonida area | Summit height, activities or mission order |
Vice City is a place, not a promise about map size
The official page uses Vice City as the recognizable urban anchor. That does not mean every storefront, road or skyline visible in a trailer will be playable, and it does not reveal how long it takes to cross the state. Rockstar has not published a full map overlay with borders and distances.
How Jason and Lucia connect to the setting
- Jason's official bio ties his earlier life to the Keys and to work for local drug runners.
- Lucia's official introduction focuses on leaving prison and trying to change her life.
- The pair is pulled into a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida after a score goes wrong.
- Their exact route through the state, chapter order and mission locations are not public.
Supporting characters named by Rockstar
- Cal Hampton - listed in the official cast.
- Boobie Ike - listed in the official cast.
- Dre'Quan Priest - listed in the official cast; mission role not disclosed.
- Real Dimez - an official duo; individual story arcs are not confirmed.
- Raul Bautista - listed in the official cast.
- Brian Heder - listed in the official cast.
Music builds the world as much as the skyline
The official music page identifies Justice as part of the original score team and mentions Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. It also describes a broad radio selection, from classic rock to talk radio, modern Latin, country, amapiano and metal. This supports the picture of a state with several cultural regions, not a single neon-city soundtrack.
What not to assume before launch
- Do not treat a fan-made map as official. Rockstar has not published a complete map overlay with borders and distances.
- Do not assume every building or interior seen in a trailer can be entered.
- Do not assume a mission order from the order of shots in a trailer.
- Do not assume that a named area is available at the start or that it is safe.
A spoiler-safe way to explore Leonida at launch
- Follow the game's introduction before wandering far; it usually teaches core systems and establishes the story tone.
- Explore one district at a time and note what the game itself labels. Avoid filling a notes app with unverified fan claims.
- Delay story-heavy streams for a few hours if you care about spoilers on social platforms.
- Save official screenshots and footage links in one place for later comparison with the final game.
- Write your own first impressions before reading guides; it makes later comparison more useful and avoids being steered by other people's assumptions.
